Same, Same, But Different
Unlike bras, breast implants are measured in CCs (cubic centimetres). This measurement ranges from 120 – 1000cc and is just one of the factors that contributes to your cup size after Breast Augmentation.
As a general rule, you can expect to go up 1 – 1.5 cup sizes for every 150 – 200ccs. This, of course, can vary, depending on:
- Implant shape (round or teardrop)
- Implant profile (projection from the body)
- Your unique frame (body shape & size)
- How the implant is placed
Breast implant size alone is not enough to accurately predict a client’s resulting cup size. In fact, two clients can have the same CCs inserted, but experience dramatically different Breast Augmentation results.
Finding the Right Breast Implant Size for You
When planning the perfect Breast Augmentation, our Plastic Surgeons are mindful to consider your desired cup size and resulting ‘look’. How they go about achieving it, however, will be different to how they might’ve approached the Augmentation before yours.
To find the right breast implant size for you, your Surgeon will assess your existing breast tissue, your body shape and size, and your preferences for a naturally boosted look or Hollywood-style ‘fake boobs’.
In most cases, the implants selected for a natural look range from 300 – 400cc. Clients who are particularly short, or finer framed, may be able to achieve this look with smaller sized implants, and clients of a larger stature may be able to achieve a natural look with larger CCs.
Experience breast asymmetry? If so, a natural-look Breast Augmentation can be achieved using different CCs in each breast!
Our Plastic Surgeons are very careful to work within the limits of your frame. The goal of every Breast Augmentation is to add volume and achieve a more shapely, symmetrical breast contour. While implants that don’t compliment your frame might still achieve this, they can cause back and shoulder pain and make exercise difficult after surgery.
Think About What You Want
Your Breast Augmentation should be for you. When planning your procedure, think about what you want and how you prefer to live your life.
Over the years, we’ve helped countless clients discover the beauty of self-confidence, but that self-confidence has looked different on each of them. Where some clients want everyone to know they’ve had a Breast Augmentation, others prefer a more subtle boost—where some want to get back to their very active exercise regime, others don’t value that as much in their lives.
Everyone is different and that’s completely ok. Think about how you live your life, the clothes you like to wear, and how your new breast contour might change or enhance that. Don’t be afraid to discuss all your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon—their number one priority is you and making sure that you’re happy with your Breast Augmentation results.
Parting Wisdom
When discussing your desired Breast Augmentation look with your Plastic Surgeon, it’s important to not get caught up on the CCs. Remember, if you’re short and have a finer frame, the implants selected for your procedure will most likely be smaller than those used to achieve a natural-looking full breast on a taller client with a larger frame. Your body is unique, and your Breast Augmentation will be too.
