Are You Ready For A Mummy Makeover?

What is a Mummy Makeover?

A Mummy Makeover is a multi-procedure surgery that got its name from postpartum mothers wanting to address concerns they had with their bodies after having children. A Mummy Makeover includes the combination of a Tummy Tuck and Breast Surgery. Either a Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Breast Lift with an Augmentation or a Breast Reduction is selected, depending on your personal body goals.

Breast Surgery

There are several options when it comes to your Breast Augmentation, including Mentor implants and now also Motiva implants, available as textured or non-textured in a round or teardrop shape implant.

Here is more information relating to each breast surgery procedure and what it aims to address and resolve:

  • Breast Lift with/without Breast Augmentation – A Breast Lift is a procedure designed to enhance the aesthetics of your breasts that may have changed over time due to age or breastfeeding. It will remove excess skin and lift the breasts giving them a youthful but natural appearance. A Breast Lift with a Breast Augmentation includes an implant under the breast tissue additionally. This combats sagginess and fills the breast pocket, offering a youthful but more fake looking appearance.
  • Breast Reduction – A Breast Reduction removes excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to create more proportionate and better-shaped breasts. A Breast Reduction is also helpful to alleviate neck and back pain that might be causing serious damage to your body.

Your Surgeon in Thailand will consult with you on your desired result and the details of the surgery. They will determine what procedure would be best for you and your body, as well as what is most suited to you based on your level of enlargement or ptosis (sagging).

Tummy Tuck

A Tummy Tuck is an abdominal procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen, giving you a fitter and firmer look to your abdomen after childbirth. Your Surgeon will determine whether you require a standard Tummy Tuck or an Extended Tummy Tuck based on the amount of excess skin that needs to be removed.

Are you Eligible for a Mummy Makeover?

A Mummy Makeover is a major operation and as such, there are many factors that you should consider before booking in your procedure. Due to breastfeeding concerns, it is important that you consider whether you are planning to have more children in the future, as well as waiting at least 6-12 months after finishing breastfeeding before going for a Mummy Makeover. You must also cease drinking and smoking for at least a month before and after the surgery for health and recovery reasons, as smoking during recovery can have serious repercussions.

The healing process for both these procedures is quite long, in particular the tummy tuck, so it is important that you consider what you will be doing up to a year after surgery. To read more on whether you are eligible for a Mummy Makeover, feel free to click onto our blog here.
